Oedipus looked on in horror, his own greed bringing him to this tragic end. King Midas stood above him, a gloating look upon his face. Oedipus couldn't fight back, his arms trapped under the carpet Midas tossed upon him, spun in gold and immovable.
But, as Midas's Golden touch infected him, Oedipus looked at his adversary and laughed, "Now I'm Motherf*cking gold" and his last jibe rang through the gilded halls of Midas's palace.
